Triangle Of Sadness Named The Best European Film Of The Year
It is the time of the year when annual cinema awards start popping up one after another. Europe has already chosen their best films of the year, and there's probably no surprise that the holder of the Palme d'Or at 2022 Cannes Film Festival, Ruben Östlund's Triangle Of Sadness has snatched most of the 35th European Film Awards this year, including the best European picture, best director, best screenwriter and best actor.
Ruben Östlund is already known for his social satire The Square which also triumphed in Cannes in 2017. Triangle of Sadness is yet another satirical black comedy set against the world of fashion and uber-rich. The film is screening all over Europe at the moment.
The best European documentary award went to Mariupolis 2 by Mantas Kvedaravičius tortured and killed by Russian soldiers in Ukraine. The Good Boss by Fernando León de Aranoa received the best European comedy award, meanwhile the best European animation award was handed to No Dogs Or Italians Allowed by Alain Ughetto.
