The Winners For The 2024 Edgar Allan Poe Awards Announced

James Lee Burke's Flags On The Bayou was announced the Best Novel. It's a novel set in Civil War-era Louisiana as the South transforms and a brilliant cast of characters - enslaved and free women, plantation gentry, and battle-weary Confederate and Union soldiers - are caught in the maelstrom.
Best Paperback Original award went to Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers by Jesse Q. Sutanto. A lonely shopkeeper takes it upon herself to solve a murder in the most peculiar way in this captivating mystery by the author of already bestselling novel Dial A for Aunties.
The Peacock and the Sparrow by I.S. Berry received the Edgar® as the Best First Novel by an American Author. A former CIA Operations Officer's debut book, of course, is an authentic spy story plotted around the time of the Arab Spring.
