The 75th Annual National Book Awards Announced Their Finalists

The Booker Prize equivalent in the United states - the National Book Awards - have announced their finalists celebrating their 75th anniversary.
Five books in the category for Fiction have been selected from the longlist to compete for the prize, the winner of which will be announced on November 20:
Ghostroots by 'Pemi Aguda
Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar
James by Percival Everett
All Fours by Miranda July
My Friends by Hisham Matar

The National Book Awards were established in 1950 to celebrate the best writing in the United States. Since 1989, the Awards have been overseen by the National Book Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to celebrate the best literature published in the United States, expand its audience, and ensure that books have a prominent place in our culture.
