Golden Globes 2024 Point To Oppenheimer And Succession




Will it turn into a trend to follow or will the Oscars make the opposite, after the 81st Golden Globes announced their winners? Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer swept up the major nominations and totaled five Golden Globes, including Best Director, Best Motion Picture - Drama, Best Original Score - Motion Picture, Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama (Cillian Murphy), and Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture (Robert Downey Jr.).


Yorgos Lantimos' Poor Things snatched the predicted Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, and Emma Stones received a Golden Globe for the Best Performance by a Female Actor in A Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.


Golden Globe for the Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language was handed to the already internationally recognized Anatomy of A Fall. Its screenwriters Justine Triet and Arthur Harari were honored for the Best Screenplay - Motion Picture. Golden Globe for the Best Motion Picture - Animated went to The Boy and The Heron.


Meanwhile TV categories were dominated by the last season of Succession. These TV series received Golden Globes for the Best TV Series - Drama,  Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series - Drama (Kieran Culkin),  Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television (Matthew Macfadyen), and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series - Drama (Sarah Snook).


Golden Globe for the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy went to The Bear whose favourite characters played by Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Adebiri received subsequently the Golden Globes for the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy.
