The first large international filmmaking event in Europe has ended this weekend. Berlinale 2025 announced the holders of Golden and Silver bears and outlined the future spectator's gourmet guide for all film lovers.


Golden Bear for Best Film went to Drømmer (Dreams (Sex Love)) by Dag Johan Haugerud. The film represents the third installment in the Norwegian writer-director’s “Dream Sex Love” trilogy. It potrays a seventeen-years-old girl who falls in love with her female teacher and puts all her love experience into an essay where it's not easy to separate reallity from wild immagination.


Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize was handed to O último azul (The Blue Trail) by Brazilian director Gabriel Mascaro. The film tackles the challenges of the eldest members of society in a dystopian plot where a seventy-seven-years-old Tereza escapes from being put into an isolated place for elderly and embarks on a journey through the rivers and tributaries of the Amazon.


El mensaje (The Message) by Argentinian director Iván Fund won the Silver Bear Jury Prize meanwhile Huo Meng won the Silver Bear Best Director for his film Sheng xi zhi di (Living the Land).


Silver Bear for Best Leading Performance went to Rose Byrne for her role in If I Had Legs I’d Kick You and to Andrew Scott for his performance in Blue Moon.
