David Fincher's Mank Dominates Oscar 2021 Nominations
Finally they have arrived - the 93rd Oscar nominations. Broadcast directly from London and announced by a lovely married couple - Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas, the most number (10) of nominations went to Mank, while The Father, Judas and The Black Messiah, Minari, Nomadland, Sound of Metal and The Trial of the Chicago 7 received 6 nominations each.
This is the first year when even two female directors have been nominated in the category of Best Director: Chloe Zhao for directing Nomadland, and Emerald Fennell for Promising Young Woman. Danish film director Thomas Vinterberg is also included into this category for his Another Round, which in turn has been nominated in the Best International Feature Film category.
