Will Golden Globes Lead Into Oscars?
All talks today circle about the 75th ceremony of the Golden Globes and those who finally got the awards. Not to mention everybody wearing black and #timesup. However, we were more interested in potential candidates to win the Oscars, as Golden Globes are always a perfect though not exact indicator of the major cinematographic event of the year.
It was obvious that the biggest competition was set between The Shape of Water directed by Guillermo del Toro and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri directed by Martin McDonagh that almost took over the chances from everybody else. Three Billboards won four Golden Globes, including The Best Motion Picture (Drama), Best Screenplay, Best Actress (Drama) and Best Supporting Actor (Drama). Whereas Guillermo del Toro was announced the Best Film Director for his The Shape of Water.
Musical or Comedy category had its own favourite - Lady Bird, which got The Best Picture and Best Actress awards.
Therefore, if you're looking ahead for the Oscars and are too impatient to wait until January 23 when all Oscars nominations will be announced, take the following titles on your radar: in addition to the above mentioned Three Billboards, The Shape of Water and Lady Bird, it would be worthy looking at The Post, Dunkirk, Call Me By Your Name, All The Money In The World, The Disaster Artist, Molly's Game and Darkest Hour.
And don't you worry, if any of them won't be included into the final list. There's no doubt you'll definitely enjoy the time watching them anyway. So let's kick-off!
