8 ACTION MOVIES TO ENTERTAIN YOU IN AUGUST

August in cinema theatres promises lots of action. Suicide Squad has already hit the screens and though the critics are not very praising, the fans of Will Smith, Jared Leto or Cara Delevingne are still streaming the theatres. Jason Statham is going to resurrect as Mechanic and Mel Gibson - as a Blood Father in order to protect his daughter. A new version of the well-known epic Ben-Hur also returns to the screens while Daniel Radcliffe will show himself in yet another amplua as an FBI agent in Imperium based on a true story.

Here's the complete list of action and thriller movies released in August:

Director: Jean-Francois Richet Written by: Peter Craig, Andrea Berloff Starring: Mel Gibson, Erin Moriarty, Diego Luna, William H. Macy, Dale Dickey, Thomas Mann Plot Synopsis: An ex-con (Mel Gibson) reunites with his estranged wayward 16-year old daughter to protect her from drug dealers who are trying to kill her.

Director: David Mackenzie Written by: Taylor Sheridan Starring: Jeff Bridges, Chris Pine, Ben Foster, Gil Birmingham Plot Synopsis: A story about the collision of the Old and New West, two brothers - Toby (Chris Pine), a straight-living, divorced father trying to make a better life for his son; and Tanner (Ben Foster), a short-tempered ex-con with a loose trigger finger - come together to rob branch after branch of the bank that is foreclosing on their family land. The hold-ups are part of a last-ditch scheme to take back a future that powerful forces beyond their control have stolen from under their feet. Director: Daniel Ragussis Written by: Daniel Ragussis Starring: Daniel Radcliffe, Toni Collette, Tracey Letts, Sam Trammell, Burn Gorman, Nestor Carbonell Plot Synopsis: Nate Foster is a young, idealistic intelligence analyst for the FBI. Highly educated, and fluent in Arabic after serving in Iraq with the State Department, he's joined the Bureau to protect the country from another 9/11. But he's beginning to realize that the ‘Islamic terrorist plots' he's busting are often setups — overzealous attempts to reassure an anxious public, and meet the latest quotas. So when the FBI discovers a smuggled shipment of Cesium-137 — the primary ingredient needed to build a dirty bomb- Nate is willing to hear out Angela Zampino, a case agent who's convinced the plot is the work of white supremacists. She explains their overwhelming history of violence, going back to Oklahoma City, and their obsession with obtaining weapons of mass destruction. But the hardest sell of all is convincing Nate to do the unthinkable — to leave his office job behind, and use his superior intelligence and people skills to go undercover, and infiltrate the community.

He's obsessed with serial killers, but really doesn't want to become one. Terrible impulses constantly tempt him, so for his own sake, and the safety of those around, he lives by rigid rules to keep himself ‘good' and ‘normal'. However, when a real monster shows up in his town he has to let his dark side out in order to stop it – but without his rules to keep him in check, he might be more dangerous than the monster he's trying to kill. The film is based on the first installment in the John Wayne Cleaver trilogy, a popular book series written by Dan Wells.


Director: Dennis Gansel Starring: Jason Statham, Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones, Michelle Yeoh Plot Synopsis: The Mechanic 2 Resurrection. Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) returns as the Mechanic in the sequel to the 2011 global hit. When someone from his past forces him back into the business, Bishop has to complete an impossible list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world.
